Texas Hold Em:

This game is usually played against other players and can have some very large pots. In iB the game is played against the dealer but still generates some very large winning hands. The basics of the game are the same as 7-card stud, but there are some fundamental differences. The most significant difference is that you are only dealt 2 cards. The rest of the cards dealt are common or community cards that are used by both you and they other players or in the case of interBet the dealer. You must use the two cards dealt to you and three cards from the community cards to make up your hand. The standard poker heirarchy is used in Texas Hold Em. Dont make the mistake of thinking you have a great hand by using 4 of the community cards and only 1 of your dealt cards. Also in iB the dealer must qualify with a pair of Jacks or better in order for you to win the hand. If the dealer does not qualify then your ante is paid 1:1 and the other bets are returned with the exception of the $1 jackpot bet.

To start the game you will bet a ante. In iB this will determine all your other bets. Also when playing in iB dont forget to bet the jackpot bet for $1.  If playing Hold-em elsewhere then each bet will vary and you are allowed to raise in accordance with the house rules. In iB once the ante is placed you are dealt 2 cards face down and then you place your first bet by hitting play. Once your first bet is placed the first 3 community cards are dealt face up and you again must bet or fold. This bet is called the flop bet, so named because the first 3 community cards dealt are called the flop. Again once you make the flop bet a fourth community card is dealt. You now must bet or fold. This bet is referred to as the fourth street and is so called because the fourth coummunity card dealt is called the fourth street. The last round of betting is started once the fifth community card is dealt. This bet is called the fifth street and as with the previous bet is named after the fifth community card or fifth street. It may sound a bit complicated but it is simply a game of 7 card stud with a bit of a twist. Again remember you MUST use both of your cards in your hand and only three of the five community cards to make the best poker hand. And also remember the dealer must qualify in iB in order for you too win the hand. If the dealer does not qualify then your ante is paid 1:1 and all other bets are returned with the exception of the $1 jackpot bet.

In the following chart you will see just what the payoff is when you play in iB. Remember that in order to win the payoff the dealer MUST qualify with Jacks or better. But to win the Jackpot bet you do NOT need the dealer to qualify. So if you are lucky and get lets say a Royal Flush but the dealer doesnt qualify, it doesnt matter you would win what ever the posted jackpot amount is. Jackpot amounts are found in the upper left corner.

Rank Payoff Progressive Jackpot
1 Pair 1:1 N/A
2 Pair 1:1 N/A
3 of a Kind 3:2 N/A
Straight 3:2 N/A
Flush 2:1 $25.00
Full House 3:1 $100.00
4 of a Kind 10:1 $500.00
Straight Flush 50:1 5% of Jackpot
Royal Flush 100:1 100% of Jackpot

One last point that Im asked about in my lessons in iB. That is about folding and should someone fold and when. All I can say is yes there is a time to fold. An example of this is simply you are at the 5th street bet and there are a pair of Queens showing in the community cards. The high card in your two cards is below a 10. You know automatically that the dealer is qualified with the Queens showing. You both have at least a pair of Queens. If you have nothing to go with the Queens and your next highest card is below a 10 I would fold. Save the iBux, playing the odds in a case like this can save you some of your bankroll. During the course of a day of playing saving by playing smart can add up and maybe keep you from having to see Harold !
